Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Social Worker within the Young Parents Development Service at Waipuna Youth Services.

We are a values-driven organisation dedicated to walking alongside young people and whānau, providing respectful, supportive services that help build strong foundations for the future.

This permanent position is for 20 hours per week and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young parents and their children.

The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori and bicultural practice.
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Pay Equity for Social Workers applies to this position).
  • Experience building respectful, supportive relationships with young parents and their children.
  • Knowledge of child development and responsive parenting approaches.
  • Knowledge and experience working alongside whānau to support positive outcomes for rangatahi.
  • Experience working with families in transitional or social housing is an advantage.
