Dayspring Trust is seeking a registered Social Worker to join our small team in the New Lynn area on a permanent part-time basis of 28 hours per week. The role involves direct work with mamas in their homes and in our base, plus facilitating groups in New Lynn.

Dayspring Trust has been supporting West Auckland mama for over 40 years. We are a unique perinatal mental health provider offering community-based social work, counselling and groups to mama experiencing postnatal depression, anxiety or who have pre-existing mental health conditions.
We are offering an opportunity for a registered Social Worker to join our small team on a permanent part-time basis of 28 hours per week, based at our New Lynn office.
In this role you will work closely with mama including in their own homes, in a strengths-based and culturally appropriate way, along with facilitating groups at our base in New Lynn.
This role includes supporting mothers in the North and West regions of Auckland and a full NZ Drivers License is essential.
You will have the expertise to:
Work in partnership with mama to develop personal and wellness plans that promote their health and wellbeing
Expertly assess and manage any risks that may occur during the support of mama
Advocate for mama when they would like support with government services, health providers and other relevant agencies
Make referrals with the consent of the mama to other services/agencies to ensure a rounded level of support is in place
Develop and facilitate mama-focused groups

Who we are looking for:
A person with current registration as a Social Worker or Counsellor
A person with at least 2 years experience in mental health, ideally in maternal mental health
A person who has knowledge of Te Whare Tapa Wha model of practice
A person who holds a full NZ drivers license
A person who has a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
A person who has knowledge of the local community
A person who has the right to work in NZ with no restrictions
The remuneration for this role is $37 per hour
Birthday leave of one day per annum
Recharge leave of one day per school term
