Job summary

Ocean blue building consultant ltd in Auckland is seeking a full-time construction assistant to support managers, architects and surveyors on commercial and civil projects. You will interpret drawings, update plans and documentation, coordinate work programs, monitor progress, and help ensure compliance with building regulations and codes of practice.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification.
• Bachelor's degree or above; no major restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Assist construction managers, architects and surveyors in planning and coordinating commercial and civil projects.
• Interpret drawings and regulations to support construction activities.
• Prepare and update sketches, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Coordinate work programs, monitor progress and assist scheduling construction activities.
• Inspect work, materials and site activities for compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Calculate project costs, prepare quantity estimates and assist in estimating timeframes.
• Collect site measurements and technical data using surveying instruments.
• Prepare, edit and revise plans, maps and construction drawings using relevant software.
• Assist in coordinating labour, materials and equipment resources to support efficient delivery.
• Perform routine computations, analyse preliminary data and prepare technical reports.

Pay :Hourly $28 - $35

Number of Vacancy: 1-2 position

2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification,Bachelor's degree or above, no major restrictions.

Must be flexible for work, able to work over the weekends and must cover our required shifts.

Long-term and full commitments are required.

• Assisted Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in the planning, organisation and coordination of commercial and civil construction projects.


• Interpreted architectural drawings, engineering plans, building regulationsand codes of practice to support construction activities.


• Prepared and updated preliminary sketches, working drawings,specifications and project documentation.


• Coordinated work programs, monitored project progress and assisted inscheduling construction activities.


• Inspected construction work, materials and site activities to ensurecompliance with project specifications, regulations and industrystandards.


• Calculated project costs, prepared quantity estimates and assisted inestimating project timeframes.


• Collected site measurements and technical data using surveyinginstruments and other measurement equipment to support projectplanning and reporting.


• Prepared, edited and revised plans, maps, charts and constructiondrawings using relevant software and documentation systems.


• Assisted in coordinating labour, materials and equipment resources tosupport efficient project delivery.


• Performed routine computations, plotted and analysed preliminary projectdata, and prepared technical reports for construction management.
