Job summary

All Trades Contract Services is seeking skilled Sheet Metal Workers to join our team for a fixed term contract based in the Hawkes Bay workshop, with project work in Taupo. The role involves fabricating and installing metal cladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting, primarily with aluminium, stainless steel and galvanised sheet, and finishing by hand.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant sheet metal experience.
• Experience with aluminium, stainless steel and galvanised sheet.
• Ability to fabricate and install cladding and insulation.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specs to determine material/ equipment needs.
• Select metal stock (stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium, copper) and check sizes against specs.
• Mark out stock with templates and gauges.
• Cut, form, and join metal using welding, riveting, soldering, brazing.
• Finish products by polishing, filing and sanding; perform onsite fabrication and installation.

Job Description

All Trades Contract Services are looking for skilled Sheet Metal Workers to join our team to work with our client on a fixed term contract, based in their Hawkes Bay Workshop with project work in Taupo

About the role:

This hands-on role is responsible for fabricating and installing metal cladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting. You will work mainly with aluminium, stainless steel and galvanised sheet, forming and fitting cladding components by hand to protect underlying insulation and plant.

• Hourly Rateof $35.00 per hour


• Fixed Term Contract until 30th July 2027.


• Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week.


• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job material and equipment requirements.


• Selecting metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium and copper, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications.


• Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments.


• Cutting metal stock along guidelines and drills.


• Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers.


• Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining.


• Finishing products by polishing, filing and sanding, and cleaning assembled products and components.


• Fabrication and onsite assembly and installation of sheet metalcladding and insulation on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and ducting.
