Job summary

Filtec is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our field team. The role involves installing, servicing, repairing and upgrading water treatment systems across municipal and industrial sites, with travel to various locations in Queensland.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver technical recommendations to enhance system performance while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in water treatment or similar field.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

Opportunity for an experienced Service Technician to join our team.

Based out of Brisbane, this role focuses on the maintenance and upgrade of existing Water Treatment Plants at municipal (government) and industrial sites. You’ll be on the road - visiting a variety of sites throughout Queensland; from cities and towns and remote regional locations too!

• Install, service, repair and upgrade water treatment systems, including filtration systems, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves, and other components.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks, inspections, and performance tests on water treatment systems to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical advice, and offer recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment maintenance logs, service reports, and client communication.
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes to provide informed technical support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Embrace and champion safety on-site to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.

SUCCESS PROFILE

• Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in the water industry or a similar field
• Chorine gas experience (highly sought after)
• Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment systems, including various filtration methods, disinfection techniques, and water quality parameters is also desirable but not essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural ability to troubleshoot.
• Exceptional customer focus and communication and listening skills
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Valid driver's license
