Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Service Technician to support patient care by maintaining and repairing hospital equipment. You will service beds, lifts, mobility gear, and calibrate for safety, while managing a mobile workspace and documenting work in software.

The role requires 2+ years in a hands-on technician position, ESTA/EAS registration (or progress toward EWRB), strong IT skills, and a professional, compassionate approach for healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a mechanical, electronic, or hands-on service technician role.
• Current ESTA or EAS registration (or willing to work towards EWRB).
• Strong time management and a cool head under pressure.
• Strong IT skills and a clean NZ driver’s licence.
• A compassionate, professional approach – healthcare environments.
• Willingness to undergo drug/alcohol, police, and ACC checks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a range of low-voltage medical equipment (hospital beds, patient lifts, mobility gear).
• Perform annual safety checks and calibrations to keep equipment running safely.
• Maintain your own mobile workspace (company van + parts).
• Accurately log your jobs using service management software.
• Be a calm, reassuring presence in sensitive environments – aged care to rehab facilities.
