Job summary

MS Ford Nelson is seeking a Service Advisor to join the busy Service Department. You will be the link between customers and the workshop, ensuring clear communication and a great experience from booking to handover.

Ideal candidates have excellent customer service skills, strong organisation, and a proactive approach. Automotive experience helps, but a genuine passion for people and service is key.

Responsibilities

  • Booking customers' vehicles for servicing, repairs and maintenance.
  • Greeting customers and discussing their vehicle requirements.
  • Preparing repair orders and ensuring accurate information is provided to the workshop.
  • Keeping customers updated throughout the day.
  • Explaining additional work identified by our technicians and gaining customer approval.
  • Preparing estimates and invoices.
  • Coordinating vehicle collection and handover.
  • Working closely with technicians, workshop controller and Parts Department.
  • Managing customer expectations and resolving queries professionally.
  • Following up with customers and helping deliver an excellent overall service experience.

MS Ford is looking for a Service Advisor to join our busy Service Department in Nelson.

This is a key customer-facing position within our dealership. You will be the link between our customers and workshop team, making sure every customer receives clear communication, professional advice and a great experience from the moment they book their vehicle in until the keys are handed back.

MS Ford has been serving the Nelson and Tasman community for more than 85 years, and we are looking for someone who shares our focus on looking after customers and doing things properly.

As a Service Advisor, your day will include:

  • Booking customers' vehicles for servicing, repairs and maintenance
  • Greeting customers and discussing their vehicle requirements
  • Preparing repair orders and ensuring accurate information is provided to the workshop
  • Keeping customers updated throughout the day
  • Explaining additional work identified by our technicians and gaining customer approval
  • Preparing estimates and invoices
  • Coordinating vehicle collection and handover
  • Working closely with our technicians, workshop controller and Parts Department
  • Managing customer expectations and resolving queries professionally

  • Supporting Ford's customer experience standards and processes
Who we are looking for

Previous automotive experience would be a definite advantage, particularly in a Service Advisor, workshop or dealership environment. However, we are also interested in people with exceptional customer service and organisational skills who are keen to build a career in the automotive industry.

You will ideally have:
