Job description

Senior Automation Systems Engineer
Role
  • This position involves the design, implementation, and delivery of customer-focused automation solutions.
  • Gather and assimilate relevant project information. (Project Documentation, Project PLC & HMI Development, Project Simulation & Commissioning, Customer Site work).
  • Development of automation solutions from technical design through commissions.
  • Manage projects including communicating project information to ensure your project timeline are met.
  • Identify and solve problems, be able to troubleshoot and provide hardware and software support for projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and customers where required.
  • Actively involved in the safety of yourself and others you mentor with ensuring all health safety procedures are followed.
  • Comply with and manage/mentor others to follow quality standards, company policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of quality standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Participate in a paid on-call roster (once every 6 weeks for a week)
  • Travel nationwide for the commissioning of solutions and overseas may be required.
  • Researching emerging trends and initiatives in manufacturing and the technologies that support or enable project initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships within the industry that promote our brand and enhance the opportunities for revenue generation, including following up on business leads.
  • Preparation of tender submissions & quotes of up to agreed values & within set time frames.
Requirements
  • 5 plus years of Automation Engineering experience, including experience developing complex automation engineering solutions.
  • Experience with development, version control tools/process, applying industry development standards and emerging trends in the following areas:
    • Automation Engineering Hardware
    • Automation Engineering PLC Software & Languages
    • Automation Engineering HMI Software & Development
    • Automation Engineering Database Design & Development
    • Automation Engineering Electronic Reporting /Data Capture
    • Automation Engineering Standards
    • Automation Engineering Networks
    • Automation Engineering Technical Documentation
  • You will have a high level of team spirit and be actively involved in creating and maintaining a collaborative team environment by working with, supporting, mentoring, and training others in your team to achieve common goals.
