Job summary

Enterprise Limited in New Plymouth is looking for an Automation Technician to join a busy manufacturing site. You will work across PLCs, control systems, troubleshooting and automation projects to improve plant performance.

The ideal candidate holds an electrical trade qualification and 4–5+ years in manufacturing or automation, with experience in major PLC platforms and strong fault-finding skills. This role offers ongoing development and exposure to AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification or equivalent is essential.
• 4–5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation required.
• Experience with PLC platforms from Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Omron.

Automation Technician

New Plymouth
Full-Time | 45 Hours per Week | $90,000-$120,000 + Overtime

Looking for a role where you can grow your automation career while getting exposure to AI, robotics and the latest manufacturing technologies?

We're looking for an Automation Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in New Plymouth. You'll work across PLCs, control systems, troubleshooting, plant improvements and automation projects, while being supported by experienced Automation Engineers across multiple sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong electrical or automation background who enjoys problem-solving and wants to keep developing their skills.

What you will be doing:

• PLC programming, troubleshooting and commissioning
• HMI and SCADA system support

• Electrical and control system fault-finding
• Supporting plant reliability and performance
• Working closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams

About you:

• Electrical Trade Qualification, or similar
• Ideally 4-5+ years' experience in manufacturing, industrial automation or a similar environment
• Experience with PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Omron
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical drawings and control schematics
• Self-motivated, practical and eager to learn
