Job summary

Tiaki Wai is seeking a senior utilities engineer to ensure three waters infrastructure supports reliable services. You will lead improvements, renewals, and asset optimisations across reservoirs, pump stations, and valve assets.

Bring a degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with 8+ years in utilities. SCADA/CAD proficiency and vendor management are essential; CMRP, PMP or PRINCE2 are desirable.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering degree, ideally Mechanical or Electrical, with 8+ years in three waters or process industry.
• SCADA and CAD proficiency, strong analytical skills, and ability to scope utility asset solutions.
• Experience leading asset programmes and projects, including vendor management; certifications are desirable.
• Background collaborating with community stakeholders, contractors, and customers.
• Willingness to work flexibly in the office, at home and across the Wellington region.

Responsibilities

• Project manage minor utility renewal and upgrade works, building project management capability.
• Manage internal and external contractors.
• Collaborate with Land Development, Engineering Solutions & Investment, and Asset Management teams.
• Support field crews to investigate and repair faults and deliver services.
• Monitor workflows and improve processes, including evaluating SCADA data and external impacts.
• Inspect and sign off connections and physical works for renewals, upgrades and new assets.
