Job summary

FMG is seeking a Senior Underwriter – Technical to provide expert underwriting advice for complex risks across FMG’s portfolio. You will act as a technical referral point, support governance and portfolio performance, and help deliver practical risk solutions for rural, commercial and corporate clients.

You will collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, Advice and Service, Product, Digital Delivery and governance teams to shape strong underwriting outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive underwriting experience with complex risks.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical underwriting advice for complex risks.
• Support adherence to FMG's underwriting appetite, delegated authority and governance frameworks.
• Prepare insights, reports and recommendations to improve underwriting performance.
• Support portfolio management, risk assessment and reinsurance solutions.
• Coach and train underwriting and frontline teams.
• Contribute to underwriting system changes, process improvements and guideline updates.
