Job summary

University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, invites applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Transport Planning within the School of Earth and Environment. The role includes teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising Masters and PhD research, and building external research partnerships.

The appointee will lead in transport planning research, contribute to curriculum development, and pursue external funding while collaborating across SEE

Qualifications

• PhD in Transport Planning or Geography.
• Postdoctoral or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong record of high-quality research outputs and external funding.
• Ability to supervise postgraduate students.
• National and/or international reputation in your discipline.
• Leadership in collaborative research and academic programme delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver classroom and field teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervise Masters and PhD research.
• Foster collaboration within SEE and with national/international partners.
• Develop a strong externally funded research programme.
• Contribute to teaching in Transport Planning and possibly Geography.
