Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer to join our Transmission Line Engineering team in New Zealand locations including Wellington or other cities. You will design and analyse transmission towers, poles, and overhead line structures, applying PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE to deliver robust structural solutions and reports.

You will collaborate with electrical, civil and multidisciplinary teams, contribute to design standards, and support growth of our transmission line

Qualifications

• A relevant structural engineering qualification with transmission structure design experience.
• Hands-on experience using PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE on live projects.
• Proven ability to design transmission towers, poles or overhead line structures.
• Experience producing structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to contribute as a practising designer, not only in coordination.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer in our Transmission Line Engineering team based in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington or Christchurch, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

• Personally design and analyse transmission towers, poles and associated overhead line structures
• Apply PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE to develop practical, high-quality structural design solutions
• Produce structural calculations, drawings and technical design reports that support safe and reliable outcomes
• Contribute to technical reviews and the delivery of accurate, technically sound design deliverables
• Help shape practical structural design standards and repeatable ways of working within a growing transmission line engineering capability
• Collaborate with electrical, civil and multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations

What you’ll bring

• A relevant structural engineering qualification and demonstrated experience in transmission structure design
• Hands‑on professional experience using PLS‑TOWER and PLS‑POLE
• Experience designing transmission towers, poles or associated overhead line structures
• Evidence of personally completing structural designs, calculations, drawings and technical reports
• Strong technical capability developed through relevant industry experience and continued hands‑on design involvement
• The ability to contribute as a practising designer rather than solely in a management or coordination capacity
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
