Job summary

AECOM’s Christchurch-based Principal Transmission Line Engineer leads design and delivery of transmission line work packages for high voltage projects across NZ, Australia, and beyond. You will set engineering direction, ensure technical rigor, and mentor a growing team while collaborating with multidisciplinary groups.

You will apply PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE tools, guide projects from initiation to completion, and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on quality and safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of transmission line engineering experience, focusing on design for grid-scale projects.
• Experience leading work packages and ensuring alignment with client standards.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line design approaches, calculations, reviews, and technical advisory support.
• Manage work packages and drive on-time project delivery within standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
