Job summary

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is seeking an experienced Senior Programme Manager for an eight-month fixed-term parental leave cover. The role provides oversight across a complex transformation portfolio, leading planning, sequencing and coordination of workstreams while aligning delivery with organisational priorities.

You will identify interdependencies, manage risks, and support governance with timely, clear advice.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading complex transformation programmes or portfolios.
• Strong strategic planning, sequencing, risk and dependency management capability.
• Experience working effectively with executive leaders and governance.
• An outcomes- and benefits-focused approach to programme delivery.
• Experience with agile, adaptive or hybrid approaches to delivery.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to turn complex information into clear advice and decisions.
• Strong relationship and influencing skills across different professional and organisational perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and direction across a complex portfolio of interconnected transformation activity.
• Lead the planning, sequencing and coordination of transformation workstreams with clear line of sight across delivery, dependencies, risks and benefits.
• Strengthen programme delivery practice across Te Pae Tawhiti, supporting teams to work in adaptive and outcomes-focused ways.
• Move between strategic and practical work, with governance informed decision support.
• Manage interdependencies across programmes and surface systemic risks and constraints early.
