Job summary

Assurity Consulting is seeking a Senior Test Manager to lead testing across complex programmes in New Zealand. You’ll shape approaches, manage risks, and drive quality with clients and delivery teams.

You’ll operate in a dynamic environment, guiding testers, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to strategy and thought leadership within Assurity.

is shaping up to be a busy year for our business and our clients, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Test Manager with programme-level experience to help shape and deliver multi-year projects.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, digging into complex environments and conducting deep discovery and analysis to understand the challenges, identify opportunities and develop strategic recommendations for senior leaders. Presentation skills are essential!

But you’re not someone who stops at strategy. You’re just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves, working alongside clients and turning recommendations into action to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Sometimes you’ll lead Assurity teams; other times, you’ll lead client teams. Either way, you’ll take ownership, bring people along with you and be accountable for the successful delivery of your projects.

What you'll be doing

• Lead testing across complex projects and programmes, from planning through to delivery
• Work with clients to understand their challenges and shape an approach that works for them
• Develop practical test strategies, plans and governance that support successful delivery
• Provide leadership across testing teams, bringing clarity when there are competing priorities or uncertainty
• Work closely with delivery, technology and business stakeholders to identify and manage quality risks
• Have the confidence to challenge decisions and have the difficult conversations when they're needed
• Communicate clearly with everyone from testers and developers through to senior leaders
• Coach and support other testers and help grow testing capability within client teams
• Share your knowledge and experience with the wider Assurity team
• Contribute to how we continue to evolve our approach to quality and testing

What we're looking for

• Experience working with government departments would be an advantage, as would experience delivering large-scale payroll, ERP, CRM or financial system implementations.
• Can work and deliver in waterfall/hybrid environments.
• Can build trust quickly with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Is comfortable influencing people without necessarily having formal authority.
• Can navigate competing priorities and make sound decisions.
• Communicates clearly and can adapt your message to different audiences.
• Enjoys solving problems and isn't fazed when things don't go to plan.
• Can lead, coach and develop people.
• Is commercially aware and understands the realities of consulting.
• Enjoys learning and staying curious about new technology and ways of working.
• Experience with modern quality engineering, automation, data or AI is also of interest.
