Job summary

Mekano Talent is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join our consultancy with a strong NZ pedigree. Based in Hamilton or Tauranga, you will lead design, reviews and construction-phase work while working closely with a collaborative team and reporting to leadership.

You’ll mentor graduates and intermediate engineers, manage projects, visit sites, and help shape the growth of the team as the business expands. A genuine leadership pathway and development emphasis are offered.

Qualifications

• CPEng registration or close to it.
• Solid NZ structural design experience for residential and commercial work.
• Proficient with structural analysis software; AutoCAD; Revit is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
• Review and sign off work; mentor graduates and juniors.
• Manage projects and foster client, architect and contractor relationships.
• Carry out site visits and construction monitoring.

Are you a Chartered Structural Engineer looking for a consultancy where you can make a real impact, take on genuine responsibility and grow into leadership as the business grows?

This well-established and fast-growing engineering consultancy offers structural, civil and geotechnical services across the North Island. The role

This is a hands-on senior role with a mix of design, review and construction phase work across a broad range of projects, from residential and multi-unit developments through to commercial and industrial buildings. You’ll be based in either Hamilton or Tauranga, working closely with a collaborative team and having a direct line of sight to the leadership of the business.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading structural design for residential, commercial and industrial projects to NZ Building Code and NZ Standards
• Reviewing and signing off work, and mentoring graduate and intermediate engineers
• Managing projects and building strong relationships with clients, architects, builders and developers
• Carrying out site visits and construction monitoring
• Contributing to the growth of the team and the business

What you’ll bring:

• CPEng registration (or very close to it)
• Solid NZ structural design experience across residential and commercial work
• Confidence using structural analysis and design software, with AutoCAD experience (Revit is a bonus)
• Clear, confident communication and a practical, solutions focused approach
• A positive attitude, a sense of humour and a drive to keep learning and improving
