Job summary

Department of Internal Affairs is seeking a Principal Advisor to join the Branch Performance team. This senior strategic partner will provide insight, judgement and advice on emerging opportunities, risks and issues, and influence across organisational boundaries to shape major programmes of work.

You will support the Deputy Secretary, lead governance and performance processes, and build relationships across agencies to deliver outcomes for the public sector. A Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience briefing Ministers’ offices and senior leaders on complex or high-profile issues.
• Navigate the machinery of government and provide clear, strategic judgment.
• Ability to influence at senior levels across government boundaries.
