Job summary

Department of Internal Affairs in Wellington seeks a Director, Branch Performance with proven strategic leadership to guide the Branch Performance function and deliver coordinated delivery and measurable results. You will lead a high-performing team, provide trusted strategic advice to senior leaders, and strengthen governance and performance reporting.

The role is permanent and located in Wellington; appointing range is NZD 175,653 – 195,160.

Qualifications

Experience leading strategic performance, planning, governance or corporate services in a complex organisation.
Proven ability to lead inclusive, high-performing teams and develop capability.
Experience managing OIA and official correspondence processes.
Ability to provide trusted advice to senior leaders on complex issues.
Ability to translate strategy into clear priorities and measured plans.
Strong governance, risk, assurance, accountability and reporting knowledge.
Continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to challenge constructively.
