Job summary

Rosewood Kauri Cliffs in the Bay of Islands, Northland, NZ, seeks a hands-on Chef to support the Head Chef and shape the kitchen culture. You will oversee station supplies, train junior chefs, and optimise processes to maintain speed, quality, and exceptional hygiene across all dishes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in high-end restaurants or luxury hotels, superb cooking techniques, and a passion for local produce, with strong HACCP knowledge and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' relevant experience in high-end restaurants or luxury hotels.
• Exceptional cooking techniques and meticulous processes.
• Interest in actively seeking local produce.
• Strong knowledge of H&S and hygiene standards.
• Agility to think on your feet with daily guest requests and menu changes.
• Good time management and excellent communication skills.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef and Director of Culinary, you will have a pivotal role in our Culinary team. This is a hands‑on position that will help support our Head Chef and shape the culture of our kitchen team.

Ensuring adequacy of supplies at cooking stations

About You

The successful candidate will be flexible, have a can do attitude, work well in a high pressure environment and want to push their career further. In addition, you will have:

At least 2 years' relevant experience, in high end restaurants and / or luxury hotels.

Exceptional cooking techniques and meticulous processes

An interest in actively seeking local produce

Strong knowledge of H&S and hygiene standards
