Job summary

Simfuni in New Zealand is seeking a senior software engineer to join our cloud-based multi-tenant SaaS platform team. The role offers hybrid work across Auckland and Wellington, with fully remote options for strong candidates.

You will contribute to end-to-end delivery, ensuring quality and reliability of our platform. You will work with a passionate team dedicated to building scalable software in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building web applications using Java, Spring and Hibernate/JPA.
• Front-end development with a modern tech stack.
• Knowledge of micro-services and cloud deployment patterns (incl. Infrastructure as code).
• Experience with APIs, publishing, versioning and maintaining multiple APIs.
• Understanding of structured and unstructured database design.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of insurance, e-commerce and payments tech is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all projects are delivered with high quality.
• Support the software development life cycle.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigations.
• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues.
• Recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Provide design reviews and technical recommendations.
• Attend meetings to discuss projects, issues and ideas.
• Coordinate with QA to develop test plans and cases.
• Plan and complete project assignments with teams.
• Maintain and upgrade existing software.
• Participate in technical audits and implement recommendations.
• Create effective technical solutions that fit business needs.
