Job summary

Serko Ltd. in Auckland is seeking a senior security specialist to join our energetic security team in a hybrid role. Reporting to the CISO, you will drive security risk management, incident response, and threat intelligence to safeguard our global platform.

You will collaborate across cross-functional teams, implement the security strategy, stay current with threats, and promote secure development practices while supporting Serko’s business objectives.

Qualifications

• Considerable experience in DevSecOps and security risk management.
• Working knowledge of security attack and defence methods.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record in security risk management in fast-paced environments.
• Experience managing Microsoft security products: Azure Security Center, Azure AD, Sentinel.
• Strong DevSecOps practices and integrating security into the SDLC.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Experience in incident response, threat intelligence, and security assessments.
• Familiarity with security automation and orchestration tools, vulnerability scanners, and secure coding practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate or equivalents.
• Confidence to pushback when security is at risk in a safe environment.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure security.
• PCI-DSS experience is preferred but not required.
• Professional security certifications such as CISSP would be highly advantageous.
