Job summary

Humankind Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior SOC Analyst to join a high-performing global security team in New Zealand. The role is hybrid, with two days on site, focusing on complex incident response, threat hunting, and improving SOC capabilities.

You will lead high-severity incident responses, perform deep-dive threat hunts, and work across SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS and SOAR platforms. Mentoring junior analysts and communicating insights to diverse stakeholders are key components of

Senior SOC Analyst | New Zealand | Up to $160,000 NZD - 2 days a week onsite (Hybrid Working)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior SOC Analyst to join a high-performing global security team and play a key role in defending critical systems and customers against evolving cyber threats.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who enjoys complex incident response, threat hunting and making a real impact on security operations.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the response to high-severity security incidents
• Conduct advanced threat hunting and deep-dive analysis
• Work across SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS and SOAR technologies
• Improve detection rules, processes and SOC playbooks
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level analysts
• Communicate incidents and security insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ SOC experience, including senior/lead-level experience
• Strong expertise across SIEM and EDR/XDR platforms
• Proven experience leading complex incident response
• Strong threat hunting and network traffic analysis skills
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities

Nice to have: Python, PowerShell or Bash scripting, relevant degree, and advanced security certifications such as GIAC, OSCP, CISSP or CISM.

Salary: up to $160,000 NZD
