Job summary

AllRecruits is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator in Hamilton, NZ. You will estimate, tender, procure, and manage project costs across residential and commercial builds, coordinating with the construction team, clients, and suppliers to keep projects on budget.

You will prepare detailed estimates and tender documents, monitor budgets, and oversee procurement, contract administration, and final accounts for multiple projects, including complex tenders and variations.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building or related discipline.
• 7+ years experience as Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, with NZ experience in residential/commercial projects.
• Experience with complex tenders and project estimations.
• Experience with CostX.
• Proven ability to prepare construction estimates and manage budgets.
• Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and construction professionals.
• Experience in commercial/construction projects; offsite/pre-fabrication experience advantageous.
• Experience managing projects commercially from estimate through procurement, construction, variations and final accounts.

• Prepare detailed estimates and quotes.
• Price and forecast material and trades costs.
• Prepare tender documents, budgets and compliance docs.
• Track design/construct changes; adjust budgets and variations.
• Procure/engage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Measure and value work; issue quotes and purchase orders.
• Approve subcontractor payments and supplier invoices.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure allowances.
• Coordinate with client and construction team for key deliverables.
• Attend meetings and manage cost increases with suppliers.
