Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a senior client-side Project Manager to lead major capital works in Auckland, delivering healthcare infrastructure typically valued at $10 million+.

You will drive the full lifecycle from business case through planning, design, procurement, construction and handover, providing leadership, governance, commercial oversight, and multi-disciplinary stakeholder engagement across a large organisational setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience delivering major capital, infrastructure, or construction projects.
• Proven delivery of projects valued at $10 million+ through the full lifecycle.
• Strong governance, commercial, contract, and risk management capability.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with senior leaders and governance groups.
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand construction, procurement, compliance, and project delivery practices.
• Strong client-side ownership and delivery experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-side delivery of major healthcare infrastructure projects.
• Oversee business case, planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, and benefits realisation.
• Provide project leadership, governance oversight, and commercial management.
• Engage with stakeholders and manage multidisciplinary project teams to ensure outcomes.

Education

Project management certification (PMP/PRINCE2/MSP/RegPM)

Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
