Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a National PPM Lead to transform how the Infrastructure and Investment Group plans, manages and delivers its national capital and infrastructure portfolio through fit-for-purpose systems, templates and governance.

You will partner with delivery leaders to drive data-led decisions, improve portfolio maturity and embed consistent project and portfolio management practices across Health NZ.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in portfolio, programme and project systems within a complex organisation.
  • Strong experience configuring PPM platforms, with Planview expertise.
  • Proven ability to improve governance, reporting and data quality outcomes.
  • Experience working in fast-paced delivery environments with multiple stakeholders.

About the Role

As the National PPM Lead, you will be responsible for transforming how the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) plans, manages and delivers its national capital and infrastructure portfolio through effective PPM systems practice.


Working closely with national and regional delivery leaders, programme teams and portfolio management specialists, you will ensure the teams are supported by consistent, fit-for-purpose systems, templates, workflows and governance processes.


You will champion a shift from compliance focused reporting to insight led decision making, helping leaders make better investment and delivery decisions through high quality portfolio information and reporting.


This role combines systems leadership, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and capability development. You'll play a key role in strengthening portfolio maturity, improving delivery performance and embedding consistent project and portfolio management practices across Health NZ.


About the Team/Service/Location

The IIG team are focused on delivering high impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system.


Giving support, oversight and assurance across asset management, asset maintenace projects and programmes, the team understand that compliant, safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.


About you

You are a highly capable portfolio, programme or project management professional who enjoys improving systems, processes and ways of working. You combine strong technical expertise with the ability to influence and support others, helping teams adopt best practice and get the most out of their tools and data.


You thrive on collaborating with others, building trusted relationships and contributing to initiatives that have organisation-wide impact, helping improve how critical healthcare infrastructure is delivered for the benefit of patients, whānau and communities across New Zealand.


You are equally comfortable working with data, systems and governance processes as you are coaching stakeholders, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.


You will bring


  • Significant experience supporting project, programme and portfolio systems within a complex organisational environment.

  • Experience configuring PPM platforms, with particular expertise in Planview

  • Experience supporting governance, reporting, risk management and change management processes.

  • Proven ability to improve systems, processes and data quality outcomes.

  • Experience working in fast-paced delivery environments involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience coaching and supporting users to build capability and improve adoption.

  • A commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration and delivering high-quality outcomes.
