Job summary

Gentrack in Auckland on-site is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery across sustainability initiatives. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and risks, and ensure value-driven outcomes for utilities clients.

You will drive agile practices, mentor team members, and collaborate with customers to prioritise features and plan releases in a fast-paced environment. This is a pivotal role in a global growth-focused company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT or similar required.
• Project Management qualification (Prince 2, PMI or similar) preferred.
• Experience in delivering projects with agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of energy and/or water utilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Global Sustainability Task Force for your region and enable team engagement.
• Plan and schedule project activities and define roles and responsibilities.
• Manage tasks required to deliver milestones and monitor progress.
• Lead client and project teams through the project lifecycle to ensure outcomes.
• Collaborate with product owners to prioritise backlog and plan releases.
• Mentor less experienced team members and foster continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Global Sustainability Task Force (GSTF) for your respective region. Enable your people to engage and partake in events.
• Encourage awareness of and behaviours aligned to our Sustainability Charter. Utilise our sustainability platform (Giki) by taking part in challenges and improving behaviours to be more sustainable. Driving competition and supporting your teams to engage.
• Planning and scheduling project activities
• Establishing and resourcing project roles and responsibilities
• Defining tasks required for the successful delivery to project milestones
• Monitoring and reporting on quality and progress
• Develops, implements and maintains sound project management and operational practices
• Evaluates and reviews project methodologies and offerings for continuous Improvement
• Demonstrate modern agile values and principles.
• Acquire in-depth product and utility industry knowledge
• Facilitate and attend meetings such as daily stand ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
• Work with the customer (product owner) to prioritise the product backlog to streamline the delivery of priorities and plan releases
• Work with technical team to develop effective solutions
• Provide input into product direction regarding functionality
• Leading the client and project team throughout the project lifecycle
• Building and maintaining project team spirit and motivation
• Setting standards and expectations of team member performance
• Developing work methods to craft team function and cohesiveness
• Responsible for championing, developing and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement amongst the Service Delivery Department
• Encourage, others to experiment and adopt the Agile mind-set, tools and techniques,
• Mentor and coach less experienced team members
• Reporting on budgets and forecasting figures including revenue margins, staff utilisation and project status
• Supports the sales team in responding to bids/tenders
• Ensuring that improvements made in projects make it back to the pre-sale process to ensure we are efficiently leveraging of our learnings from ongoing projects
• Grows and develop long term, ethical, transparent, value based, and outcome focussed delivery partnerships with customers
• Ensures that project delivery is customer focussed protecting the interests of both the customer and Gentrack
• Promoting Gentrack’s products and solutions to customers and endorsing best practise amongst the Gentrack user group
