ANZ in Wellington is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead one or more high-value projects. You will manage risks, dependencies, and vendor relationships while ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality. Role location is Auckland or Wellington, permanent with 37.5 hours per week.

You will promote value delivery at senior management level, drive transformation, and coordinate cross-functional teams to realise business benefits within ANZ governance standards.

Qualifications

  • Extensive Senior Project Management experience in financial services compliance, risk, or regulatory environments.
  • Experience delivering complex projects and successful business outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing across all levels.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams with direction, coaching and mentorship.
  • Experience developing and managing project plans, schedules and delivery roadmaps.
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused delivery mindset with sound judgement.
  • Experience with multiple PM methodologies and tailoring approaches to project needs.
  • Solid commercial acumen including vendor management and procurement.

As a Senior Project Manager in our Delivery and Change Centre of Excellence, you’ll play a key role in managing one or multiple projects/streams involving significant business value and risk implications across divisions and business units.

You will promote the projects/streams at senior management level to enable value delivery, resolve technology and business issues, risks and dependencies, in line with business case and within defined accountabilities and constraints. You will be accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget and with the desired quality.

The Senior Project Manager position is a transformational and outcome focused role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:

  • Leading the delivery of complex projects within scope, budget, and agreed timelines.

  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive Senior Project Management experience including substantial exposure to financial services compliance, risk management, or regulatory environments and delivering complex projects and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across a broad range of initiatives, from smaller scale projects to complex transformation programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, providing direction, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Experience developing and managing project plans, schedules, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong delivery mindset.
  • Experience across multiple project management methodologies and the ability to tailor approaches to project needs.
  • Sound judgement, decision-making, and active listening skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including vendor management, procurement, and Statements of Work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
