Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to maintain the stability, resilience and performance of critical reconciliation and operational platforms. As aSeniorApplication SupportEngineer,you will support the platforms that underpin critical reconciliation and operational processes across the bank. This role offers the opportunity to work on a business-critical service, combining deep technicalexpertisewith problem solving, continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.
As a senior technical specialist,you'llbe responsible formaintainingthe stability,resilienceand performance of the Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) andRecOpsplatforms.You'llpartner closely with operational teams, technology stakeholders and vendors to resolve complex issues, enhance platformcapabilityand drive operational excellence.
You’resomeone who enjoys solving complex problems, thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in delivering reliable outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
Extensive experience in Application Support, Platform Support or Systems Engineering roles.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
SQL and database experience.
Experience supporting enterprise applications across cloud,SaaSand on-premises environments.
A strong understanding of operational support practices, including incident,problemand change management.
Experience working in environments where risk management, compliance and operational resilience are critical.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for automation,simplificationand innovation.
Experience within financial services or banking.
Scripting or automation experience using tools such as PowerShell or Python.
ITIL certification or similar industry qualifications.
