Digital Garage – Wellington Central, North Island

Why You’d Like It
Ready to take the reins on a diverse portfolio that actually impacts everyday Kiwis? If you thrive on taking complex concepts from a whiteboard napkin to full operational reality, this fixed-term gig in Wellington offers the scale, complexity, and autonomy you’ve been looking for.

The Story
Our client is stepping into an ambitious phase of enterprise transformation. To modernise key operational capabilities, refine customer touchpoints, and overhaul legacy systems, they need an experienced Project Manager to lead several key digital and tech integration initiatives over the next two years.

Company Profile
This major player keeps New Zealand moving. Operating behind the scenes on a massive scale, they combine high-volume operations with a strong drive toward modern customer experiences. You’ll be joining a collaborative technology team that values pragmatic problem-solving, open communication, and genuine team culture.

Your Role
You will take end-to-end ownership of high-value projects spanning customer digital enhancements, systems integration, and process transformation across the business.

  • Drive projects through the complete lifecycle, from initial discovery and business case creation to vendor procurement, delivery, and handover.
  • Partner closely with operational and corporate teams to unpack business problems, translating them into clear technical requirements and actionable project plans.
  • Direct multi-vendor environments and internal specialists to keep project momentum high, scope tight, and delivery on track.
  • Manage project finances, risk frameworks, and governance reporting to ensure senior leadership stays informed and aligned.
  • Facilitate seamless change management and user adoption, ensuring newly delivered technology drives real operational value.
Benefits
  • Highly competitive salary.
  • Central Wellington location close to public transport routes.
  • A supportive, down-to-earth team culture where your expertise is respected and heard.
  • High-visibility enterprise work that makes a tangible difference to national infrastructure.

Your Fit
You’re an accomplished Project Manager with at least 5 to 7 years under your belt running complex tech initiatives in enterprise settings. You know how to build a rock-solid business case, navigate intricate vendor landscapes, and talk tech with engineers just as comfortably as you discuss strategy with executives. If you bring prior experience delivering customer booking platforms, website overhauls, or CX enhancements, alongside a pragmatic, hit-the-ground-running attitude, you’ll fit right in.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. If you are not a NZ Citizen, you must have the right of permanent residence or a valid work visa.
