Job summary

Department of Conservation NZ in Dunedin invites an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of multi-discipline projects from scoping to completion. You will manage budgets, coordinate site investigations, and collaborate with iwi, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure value for money and timely delivery.

The role focuses on infrastructure delivery, IT integration, policy, and advertising, requiring strong governance, risk management, and a proactive leadership style.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects
• Experience delivering multi-discipline projects with governance and risk management
• Experience with infrastructure works and regulatory approvals
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and MS Project
• Full drivers licence
• Experience engaging with Māori to meet treaty outcomes

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of DOC projects from scoping to completion
• Manage budgets (OPEX and CAPEX) with forecasting
• Coordinate site investigations and stakeholder workshops
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance, health and safety across delivery
• Collaborate with Programme team for consistent approach
