Job summary

MBIE’s Programme Manager, Tourism and Hospitality, leads a significant programme to strengthen New Zealand’s events system from the Wellington CBD. You will coordinate policy and operational workstreams, develop programme management systems, and manage risks while delivering timely reports for senior leaders and Ministers.

You will work across MBIE, government agencies, local government, industry, and Māori and iwi to ensure priorities translate into practical actions and tangible delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale programmes in a public sector environment.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and align priorities across agencies.
• Strong governance, reporting and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders and Ministers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a high-profile programme across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement programme management systems, risk and dependency management.
• Provide governance support and timely reporting to senior leaders and Ministers.
• Collaborate with MBIE, other government agencies, industry, and iwi to deliver outcomes.
• Translate strategic priorities into practical delivery plans and actions.
• Lead priority projects and provide programme leadership and quality assurance.
