Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Pokeno, New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to lead the Precast and Reinforcing team on site. You will own day-to-day production, resolve complex problems and drive safer, faster and smarter processes.

You will work with Sales, Quality, Site Supervisors and Team Leaders to keep operations optimal. 3–5+ years in precast or manufacturing and a Civil/Construction Engineering degree are desirable.

Qualifications

• Civil or Construction Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• 3–5+ years in a precast or manufacturing production environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of precast and the confidence to engage in detailed engineering discussions.
• A methodical, solutions-focused approach with a track record in continuous improvement.
• Leadership skills: coach, motivate and develop people.
• Solid report writing and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production and ensure drawings, materials, moulds and resources are ready to go.
• Be the go-to expert for complex production and technical problems.
• Drive quality from inspection and test plans to NCRs, and cut rejects, rework and waste.
• Coach and develop your team and set safety and performance standards.
• Lead continuous improvement across production, QA/QC systems and reporting.
• Manage planning, costs and workcentre capacity to maximise output.

We're looking for a Senior Production Engineer to join our Precast and Reinforcing team in Pokeno. You'll be the technical lead on site, running production day to day, sorting out the complex issues and making our processes safer, faster and smarter.
