Job summary

Fisher Paykel Healthcare is seeking a product development engineer to help identify and develop new opportunities within the surgical market. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to translate insights into innovative product designs and help ensure the journey from concept to commercialisation.

You’ll contribute to a fast-paced startup mindset, driving projects to successful completion while adapting to changing business needs and priorities.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of product development engineering experience, ideally in the medical device industry.
• Flexible, fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience driving projects to successful completion.
• Adapts to changing business needs while maintaining focus on project objectives.
• Owns and resolves technical challenges in product and process development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

About The Opportunity

In this dynamic role, you will help identify and develop new opportunities within the surgical market, supporting the journey of new products from concept to commercialisation. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will develop a deep understanding of patient and clinician needs, translate insights into innovative product designs, and help ensure successful delivery of products into the hands of our customers.

You’ll be a team player that is motivated by sharing your knowledge and actively participating in turning our great engineers into exceptional engineers.

Our team is nimble, we make decisions quickly, and are action oriented. You’ll play a key role in a small team delivering timely results. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn at pace in order to improve patient care and contribute to the overall success and expansion of our Surgery business.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in engineering or a related field.
• Has 6+ years of product development engineering experience, ideally in the medical device industry.
• Embraces a flexible, fast-paced, and hands-on approach in a startup environment.
• Has experience driving projects to successful completion
• Adapts to changing business needs and priorities while maintaining focus on project objectives.
• Can own and resolve technical challenges associated with product and process development.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
