Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is seeking a generalist engineer to impact care for patients in NZ. The role sits in the invasive ventilation and humidification team, with emphasis on patient-first thinking and hands-on learning.

You’ll work across Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory and Operations, planning and delivering projects while applying design controls and regulatory knowledge. The ideal candidate has a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering and 0–5 years of relevant

Qualifications

  • A degree (Graduate or higher) in Biomedical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduate to 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a variety of projects, updating a product or negotiating a new regulation.
  • Help solve manufacturing issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate ideas to Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory and Operations teams.

About the opportunity

A perfect role for a generalist engineer who wants to make their mark and ensure the continuity of care for our most vulnerable patients. In our invasive ventilation and humidification team, we put the patient first. This role is made for an inquisitive and practical personality. Critical thinking skills and a long-term focus are essential.

This role has the variety you are looking for as no two days are the same – whether you’re updating a product or negotiating a new regulation or helping solve a manufacturing issue, you’ll need to be quick on your feet and comfortable working with people from all parts of the business, such as Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory or Process and Operations Engineering.Being able to communicate your ideas to any of those audiences in formal or informal situations is also essential. You’ll need to be familiar with common standards and regulations that we use and be focused on planning and delivery of projects.

About you - you will have
  • A degree (Graduate or higher) in Biomedical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
  • Graduate to 3-5 years of relevant experience
