Job summary

Vitaco, a leading Australasian health brands company, seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist in Auckland to own end-to-end category strategies for vitamins and minerals and to lead supplier negotiations across the portfolio.

The role involves delivering measurable savings, managing material requirements, and supporting NPD and manufacturing plans, with collaboration across Planning, Quality, Finance and Marketing in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of procurement experience.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and contract management skills.
• Financial acumen with track record of savings.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce, Science, or related field preferred.

• Manage the MRP purchasing plan for assigned materials, place and expedite POs, and resolve supply constraints.
• Collaborate with NPD and Marketing to source materials and support timely product launches.
• Provide procurement expertise to cross-functional projects including operational innovations and capital expenditure.

Due to a team member retiring, we have a fantasticopportunity for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our dynamicProcurement team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Operational Procurement Manager, you will take end-to-endownership of a designated procurement category portfolio (including, but notlimited to vitamins & minerals). You will act as Vitaco’s subject matterexpert and trusted commercial partner and will develop and deliver categorystrategies that balance cost, quality, service, supply continuity, inventory,and working-capital outcomes.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining strategic sourcingwith day-to-day procurement management. You will lead supplier negotiations,competitive sourcing and cost-saving initiatives, while managing materialrequirements and resolving supply constraints to support Vitaco’s manufacturingplans.

Working across Planning, Quality, NPD, Marketing, Finance,Legal and Supply Chain, you will turn market and supplier insights into clearcommercial recommendations. You will also provide procurement leadership to newproduct development projects, operational innovation projects, capitalprojects, and selected services or indirect-material sourcing initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Ownand deliver commercially focused category strategies for a designatedportfolio, supported by market intelligence, cost-driver analysis, andclear sourcing plans.
• Leadend-to-end sourcing initiatives, including market research, supplieridentification, RFPs, commercial evaluation, negotiations, contracting,and implementation.
• Delivermeasurable savings, purchase price variance, cost avoidance, favourablepayment terms, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Managesupplier relationships and performance, using regular engagement andbalanced scorecards covering quality, cost, service, reliability, andinnovation.
• Managethe MRP purchasing plan for assigned materials, place and expeditepurchase orders, maintain accurate ERP promise dates, and proactivelyresolve supply constraints.
• Partnerwith NPD and Marketing to source and evaluate new materials, secure robustpricing and terms, and support timely product launches.
• Provideprocurement expertise to cross-functional projects, including operationalinnovations, capital expenditure, services, and indirect materials.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+years’ procurement experience, ideally within the FMCG or co-manufacturingsector.
• Strongnegotiation, supplier management, and contract management skills.
• Financialacumen and a track record of delivering measurable cost savings.
• Acollaborative, solutions-focused approach to cross-functional teamwork.
• Abilityto manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Atertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce, Science, or a relatedfield (preferred).
