Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a fully remote role. You will lead large-scale electrical systems, set technical directions, and mentor senior engineers across international teams.

The position demands a deep background in power systems, with a track record of delivering complex projects. You will define architectures, oversee schematics and protections, and ensure compliance with standards while driving innovation.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.
• 15+ years in electrical design and system architecture.
• At least 5 years in principal or lead role.
• Experience with power system analysis software and CAD.
• PE license or equivalent desirable.
• Renewable energy sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and development of large electrical systems and infrastructure projects.
• Define architectures, specifications, and technical roadmaps for advanced electrical solutions.
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers.
• Oversee the creation and validation of schematics, power distribution designs, and control philosophies.
• Conduct power system analysis, stability studies, fault analysis, and arc flash assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to meet objectives.
• Develop technical documentation, white papers, and proposals.
• Represent the company as a technical expert in forums and client discussions.
