Job summary

New Zealand Treasury is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to work on tax and economic development policy. You’ll combine economic analysis, policy advice and cross-government coordination to shape Ministerial decisions and support Budget initiatives.

You will collaborate with Treasury colleagues and other agencies, applying analytical thinking to complex problems and contributing to evidence-based guidance across tax, regional development, science and innovation, immigration and labour market

Qualifications

• Degree in economics, public policy, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Bring together economic analysis, policy advice and cross-government coordination to help Ministers make decisions.
• Develop robust, evidence-based advice across policy areas including tax and economic development.
• Apply analytical thinking to complex problems, balancing trade-offs across economic, fiscal, implementation and risk factors.
