Job summary

New Zealand Treasury seeks an Analyst or Senior Analyst in Revenue and Economic Development to help shape tax and economic policy. You will combine economic analysis with policy advice, working across ministries and agencies to inform Ministers and major work programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly in writing and speech.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills applied to policy questions.
• Experience working across government, stakeholders and Ministers.
• Ability to build credible, practical policy recommendations.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Bring together economic analysis, policy advice and cross-government coordination to help Ministers make decisions.
• Contribute to Budget initiatives, policy reforms and other major work programmes.
• Help shape Treasury's thinking on tax and economic development policy.
• Work with colleagues across the Treasury and government to develop robust, evidence-based advice.
• Apply analytical thinking to complex problems, balancing trade-offs across economic, fiscal, implementation and risk factors.
