Job summary

New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) – Te Pā Whakamarumaru invites a Senior Policy Advisor to evolve the Protective Security Requirements (PSR) policy and ensure it remains agile for agencies across the public sector.

You will master data, lead annual assurance reporting with Power BI, mentor staff, and build alliances with NCSC and international partners to keep NZ aligned with global standards.

Qualifications

• Policy professional with strong analytical and writing skills.
• Comfortable working with data to inform policy decisions.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across levels and agencies.
• Organised and able to manage work programmes and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Drive policy excellence: lead PSR policy development and implementation for public-sector agencies.
• Master the data: own annual assurance reporting, extract trends and communicate risks.
• Support governance: mentor staff and manage the work programme, including the Pacific.
• Build alliances: collaborate with the National Cyber Security Centre and international partners.
