Job summary

New Zealand Police – Porirua, North Island is seeking a Practice Advisor to join the National Security Systems team, based within the Security Intelligence Group, NIC. The role offers flexible location with remote possibilities and is a full-time position at Band I within the Office of Constable/Police Employee.

The primary purpose is to provide expert guidance, training and assurance on assessment tools, risk management and case practices, driving national consistency and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Proven experience in national security, intelligence or investigations.
• Effective communication with our people and partners.

• An ability to manage multiple demands.
• New Zealand citizenship, or a permanent NZ resident.
• A tertiary qualification relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance, advice, training, assurance and practice support to Police staff and senior leaders working in the national security space.
• Promote a nationally consistent approach to understanding threats to national security and managing the enduring risk.
• Drive a focus on continuous improvement and innovation across the Operating Framework and case management system.
• Develop and maintain a range of positive relationships across key workgroups and partners.
• Ability to present and communicate in written and verbal form.
• Work closely with the National Security Group, District workgroups and the NZ Intelligence Community.
• Support remote working arrangements and flexibility.
