Job summary

Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist for Interim Care Service. The role is permanent, part-time (64 hrs/fortnight), primarily based at North Shore Hospital with some days at Waitakere Hospital.

You will lead the ICS team, provide rehabilitation to patients temporarily unable to return home, and work within an inter-disciplinary team to ensure effective, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inpatient and/or rehabilitation experience.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience.
• Ability to mentor/supervise junior staff and students.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management with proactive problem-solving.
• Registered NZ Physiotherapist with APC.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitation to patients in interim care facilities.
• Lead and support ICS physiotherapist and allied health assistants.
• Collaborate with senior OT, social worker, and charge nurse manager to ensure quality care.
• Assess and promote independence, mobility, and discharge planning.
• Foster interdisciplinary relationships in a patient/whānau-centred model of care.
