Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Starship Community in Auckland is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist for a fixed-term 5-month full-time role within the child development service. You will manage a clinical caseload providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with developmental and disability needs, and provide clinical leadership within the Physiotherapy team.

Qualifications

• Be a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist holding a Current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Hold a clean and full New Zealand driving licence.
• Have a minimum of 4 years post graduate clinical practice experience including a minimum of 2 years within paediatrics.
• Be committed to clinical and people leadership responsibilities.
• Have a commitment to biculturalism and to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Have demonstrated collaborative working with colleagues and supporting others professional development.
• Ideally have EMS Accreditation in Walking and Standing and Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management Level 1.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated profession to join the Starship Community service as a Senior Physiotherapist. In this role, you will provide direct clinical care and support the Physiotherapy team, contribute to clinical and people leadership and lead practice and improvement innovations. You will hold a clinical caseload providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with developmental and disability needs as part of our child development service.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Starship Community provides interdisciplinary care and cultural support to children, young people, their families and whānau living within the Auckland District area. A part of the Starship Child Health directorate, our nursing, allied health and technical staff are responsible for delivering health care services to children, young people, and whānau in their community. We are committed to delivering whānau-centered care that focuses on the health and wellbeing of children and their whānau. Getting to know our communities, working closely with them, removing inequities and barriers to health care for priority populations, are key drivers for us each day. Service delivery is guided by the Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.

About you
