Job summary

Bupa is seeking a permanent HR Generalist/People Partner to support General Managers and Operations Manager around Wellington and the Central Manawatu. This hybrid role involves travel to facilities and the support office in Porirua, delivering generalist HR advice and strategic ER support.

You will partner with leaders to implement people strategies, manage complex ER issues, and drive engagement, capability and performance initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in a People Partnering role.
• Experience advising across HR disciplines, including complex ER matters.
• Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate resilience.
• High emotional intelligence with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and employee policies.

• Shape the future direction of Bupa in Wellington and the Central Manawatu.
• Provide specialist ER guidance and HR advice to leaders.
• Partner with leaders to deliver people strategies across performance, capability, engagement and talent.
• Offer tailored HR insights from metrics to support business decisions.

About the role

We currently have an exciting permanent opportunity, reporting into the Head of People to support our General Managers and Operations Manager around Wellington and the Central Manawatu, providing generalist HR advice and specialist ER support. This is a hybrid role with some travel required to our facilities and support office based in Porirua.

• Partner and support our leaders to deliver people strategies, including aligning performance, capability, engagement, and talent initiatives.
• Provide tailored advice based on insights gleaned from HR metrics and your knowledge of contemporary HR interventions to support the overall business and people strategy.
• Coach and advise people leaders on industrial relations issues, organisational effectiveness, performance discussions, enterprise agreements, rostering, and managing attendance.
• Immerse yourself in a multitude of interesting projects, including the implementation and roll out of talent and performance management, annual review process, engagement surveys and growth projects.
• Be part of a close-knit, supportive team who play an integral role in enriching the lives of our society’s most vulnerable.

About you

• You’re a positive, professional and compassionate person who strives for excellence and a desire to make a difference, and who loves working in an agile culture that’s continually growing and evolving.
• Seasoned HR professional with at least five years' experience in a People Partnering role, ideally from a large and complex organisation where you have provided advice across all HR disciplines, including the management of complex ER matters, end to end.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise and demonstrate resilience.
• High levels of emotional intelligence coupled with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which ensures your advice is well received and put into practice.
• Experience in supporting a variety of HR disciplines including leadership capability, operational HR delivery, talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and retention.
• Expertise in interpreting, understanding and applying awards, enterprise agreements, people processes and policies across the employee lifecycle.
• Experience in the application of the Employment Relations Act, wellbeing and health, safety and human rights legislation.
• Proven ability to track and report a range of people related data.
• A degree qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
