Job summary

Gallagher Security is seeking a Senior PCB Designer to develop, review, and maintain schematic and PCB designs for security devices. You will collaborate with Electronics Engineers, production specialists, and suppliers to ensure layouts meet signal integrity, EMC, and thermal requirements from prototype to production.

You will lead design reviews, manage libraries and footprints, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with suppliers to secure fabrication capabilities and timely

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 6 certificate or diploma in electronics or equivalent PCB design experience.
• Experience designing mixed-domain PCBs that contain digital, analog, power, and RF circuits using Altium Designer.
• Expertise in impedance control, power distribution, signal integrity, EMC best practices, and DFM/DFT principles.

Responsibilities

• Designing multilayer, mixed-domain PCBs in Altium Designer with attention to signal integrity and EMC/EMI mitigation.
• Leading design reviews and creating complete fabrication and assembly documentation.
• Managing PCB CAD systems, including libraries and footprints.
• Evaluating and improving PCB CAD workflows, processes, and design practices.
• Supporting engineers with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of PCB design and manufacturing challenges.
• Providing technical leadership across development projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Liaising with suppliers to evaluate fabrication capabilities and ensure timely procurement.
