Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Senior PCB Designer to join the Devices Team in Hamilton. You will develop, review, and maintain schematic and PCB layouts for Gallagher's security products, supporting prototypes through to production and ongoing maintenance.

Collaborate with Electronics Engineers, production specialists, and suppliers to ensure signal integrity, EMC, and thermal management. Lead design reviews, manage component libraries, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 6 certificate or diploma in electronics or equivalent.
• Proficiency in designing mixed-domain PCBs using Altium Designer.
• HDI technologies like microvias and stacked vias.
• Impedance control, power distribution, signal integrity, EMC/DFM/DFT practices.
• Experience in product development and manufacturing environments.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design multilayer, mixed-domain PCBs in Altium Designer with SI and EMC focus.
• Lead design reviews and produce fabrication/assembly docs.
• Maintain component libraries and footprints.
• Improve CAD workflows and design practices.
• Support engineers with troubleshooting PCB design and manufacturing challenges.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Liaise with suppliers to evaluate fabrication capabilities and procurement.
