Job summary

Fletcher Building Limited in Auckland is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Partner to own end-to-end payroll processing and guide Payroll Partners, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payments across the business.

You will lead day-to-day payroll delivery, mentor teammates, liaise with time and attendance and manage data securely, plus support month-end and year-end activities and payroll reporting.

Qualifications

• Significant payroll experience in New Zealand.
• Strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation and the Holidays Act.
• Experience interpreting collective and individual employment agreements.
• Proven ability to maintain payroll compliance and controls.
• Excellent numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder advisory capability.
• NZPPA Level 3+ certification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing and ensure pay runs are accurate and on time.
• Mentor Payroll Partners with day-to-day activities.
• Work with time and attendance systems and advise on pay rules.
• Maintain employee data and secure payroll information.
• Process payroll-related payments, deductions and KiwiSaver contributions.
• Complete month-end reconciliations, payroll reporting and year-end activities.
• Manage payroll compliance across tax obligations, entitlements and Holidays Act.
• Resolve payroll queries promptly.
• Build relationships with People & Performance and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and contribute to payroll projects and improvements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across payroll processes.
