Job summary

Lance Ash Interiors in Christchurch, South Island, is seeking an experienced painter to take on a hands-on Quality Control Inspector role. You will inspect plasterboard stopping before handover and collaborate with trades to maintain a high-quality finish.

The role offers varied work, combining quality control with hands-on painting tasks and potential future expansion across plasterboard stopping and painting services. You’ll join a team focused on delivering an excellent finished product.

Qualifications

• Proven painting experience with attention to finish quality.
• Ability to identify defects and clearly mark areas for rectification.
• Experience collaborating with managers and trades to maintain standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify and clearly mark areas requiring rectification.
• Work with the Stopping Contracts Manager to resolve quality issues.
• Reinspect rectified work and confirm it is ready for painter handover.
• Carry out small plasterboard stopping and painting repairs when practical.
• Assist with smaller plasterboard stopping jobs and other finishing work.
• Help tradespeople and subcontractors continually improve quality.
