Job summary

Habit Health Tauranga is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist with a strong focus on concussion rehabilitation to join our Bay of Plenty team. You'll work with clients recovering from concussion and manage a varied caseload within a multidisciplinary group.

You'll mentor developing therapists, contribute to service excellence, and build strong referral networks while supporting clients to return to work, study and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and current APC.
• Minimum 5 years' clinical Occupational Therapy experience.
• Experience in concussion, vocational, or community rehabilitation preferred.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills.
• Full New Zealand driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concussion and rehabilitation services to community clients.
• Complete comprehensive assessments and develop tailored plans.
• Support clients to achieve meaningful goals and return to daily activities.
• Liaise with ACC, employers, whānau and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear clinical documentation and reports.
• Mentor newer clinicians and support service growth.

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Tauranga team, with a strong focus on concussion rehabilitation. In this role, you'll work with clients experiencing concussion and persistent symptoms, providing person-centred rehabilitation that supports their return to work, study, family life, and meaningful daily activities.

You will manage a varied caseload while working closely with our multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, psychologists, vocational consultants, and other rehabilitation professionals. As a senior clinician, you'll also provide guidance and support to developing therapists and contribute to service excellence across the region.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering high-quality concussion and rehabilitation services to clients in the community
• Completing comprehensive assessments and developing tailored rehabilitation plans
• Supporting clients to achieve meaningful goals and return to everyday activities
• Liaising with ACC, employers, whānau, and other stakeholders
• Preparing clear and timely clinical documentation and reports
• Mentoring and supporting newer clinicians where appropriate
• Building strong referral networks and contributing to service growth in the Bay of Plenty region

What You'll Bring

• Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC
• At least 5 years' clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience in concussion, vocational, or community rehabilitation is highly desirable
• Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and relationship-building skills
• A passion for helping people achieve meaningful outcomes
• A full New Zealand driver's licence
