Job summary

Scott Technology in Canterbury seeks an experienced Mechanical Fitter/Service Engineer to join our team. The role blends workshop engineering, manufacturing support, and customer-facing service work on world-class automation equipment.

Travel for installations and commissioning is included. You will perform precision fitting, maintenance, and assembly from engineering drawings and provide on-site/off-site support to Scott customers while collaborating with engineering teams to improve equipment

Qualifications

Requires a trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Fitting & Machining and at least five years in mechanical engineering or industrial machinery.
Experience with automation equipment and complex machinery is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills; ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Carry out precision mechanical fitting, assembly, and maintenance of automated machinery.
Provide hands-on engineering and manufacturing support, including machining, fabrication, and component fitting.
Work from engineering drawings to achieve high quality outcomes and tolerances.
Provide planned maintenance and breakdown support for Scott customers.
Install, commission and service automation equipment onsite and remotely.
Participate in on-call roster and build strong customer relationships.
Maintain service documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
